Serving the elderly in Monroe and Owen Counties
The Endwright Center

The Endwright Center, located at 630 W. Edgewood Drive, Ellettsville, Indiana 47429, is the result of years of dreaming, planning, and hard work by leaders of the community. The Center is dedicated to the independence, health, and dignity of our area's older Hoosiers.

Through an innovative fitness program, one-on-one computer tutoring program, arts and humanities classes, special events, intergenerational activities, support groups, and volunteer opportunities, The Endwright Center strives to meet the various needs of people 50 years and older. Center facilities include a 150-foot soft floor gymnasium for half-court basketball, two exercise rooms with up-to-date fitness equipment, a creative arts room, and the Patsy Earles Performing Arts Stage/art gallery. Take a look at the Endwright Center calendar to see our upcoming events and activities.

Health and Fitness Program
The Endwright Center promotes physical activities that enhance the personal health and the vitality of our society. The greatest benefit of physical activity comes by taking the first steps to an active, healthy lifestyle. The Individualized Fitness Program is a free program that teaches people how to stretch properly, how to lift weights correctly, and how to use cardiovascular equipment. Over 900 people are enrolled in the program. A consent form, medical history, and physician's permission slip are required.  Additionally, a "Lunch and Learn" series is provided each month for informal discussions on important health topics. Discussions are led by health professionals from the area.

As interest develops, The Endwright Center is available for exercise programs that include:

  • Yoga
  • Strength
  • Flexibility
  • Balance / Coordination
  • Exercise to Music
  • Cardiovascular Exercise
  • Self-Defense
  • Dance
  • Team Sports
  • And Much More!

Sharol Laczkowski teaches "Exercise to Music" and "Let's Dance" classes.
